Four Wheeling

We went over to our friends Vicki and Howard where we had the chance to take the kids four-wheeling. Michelle and I took turns giving the kids rides. Riley was intimidated after the first ride. Devon enjoyed it and Raygan and Ryan had a blast. Hopefully we can get some of the pictures they took, to post them on the blog.

Wind Storm 2008

Sunday afternoon the aftermath of hurricane Ike hit us. The winds reached peaks of 76mph here in the cincinnati area. They lasted for a little over four hours. We lost power Sunday afternoon. Michelle got her power back up Monday morning about 11:00am. Jesse got his power back Wednesday morning about 7:00am. Our company is still without power, running on backup generators. The amount of damage done was pretty amazing. 1.2 million households without power. Thousands of downed trees and powerlines. The grocery stores had many things wiped out when they finally did get power back due to the amount of food lost by everyone. Gas stations have been taped off by police due to the lack of gas and prices have risen to reflect the shortage. As amazing as the force was here we are all thankfull that everyone is safe and that we experienced nothing compared to the full force others have in the gulf.

Buddy Walk 2008

Here are some pictures from the Buddy Walk 2008 at Newport on the Levee. We went down with Mary Ann for her son D.J. who has Down Syndrome. It was a really nice day and about 9,000 people showed up. It was about a 2 mile walk and the kids were tired about half way through, they did have fun afterwards at the free lunch and music/dancing.

Hotel For The Wedding

We got our cabin booked and went to book a room for mom, dad and the kids and found that most hotels are filling up fast. The room we were looking at Thursday morning was gone by the afternoon. Just wanted to give everyone a heads up.

Labor Day Picnic

We went over to the park and had a nice picnic with family and friends. It was a hot day, even in the shade, but the meal and company was very good.
